The Mandaue City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) on Tuesday, Oct. 17, held a meeting with the focal persons of the barangays’ DRRMO.

Coordination meetings in Mandaue
CDRRMO Head Buddy Alain Ybañez said that a few days ago, they also conducted another meeting with personnel from the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM), Commission on Elections, Philippine National Police, and Bureau of Fire and Protection to discuss the matter.
“In proper coordination sad nato, unsaon ang response, and also the activation sa command of incident command system of the command center,” said Ybañez.

All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day
Ybañez said that they would be on a red alert in the upcoming elections and All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day.
Ybañez said that they would deploy personnel to the over 20 schools that would be used as polling precincts.
TEAM Operations Head Arnold Malig-on said that 2 to 3 traffic enforcers would also be deployed in schools.

No road closure
Malig-on said there would be no road closures but they would control the flow of the traffic and parking.
“Ipalayo lang namo (entrance ug exit sa school) ang i-designate nga parking area dapit sa may mga eskwelahan,” said Malig-on.
(We will just make it farther (entrace and exit of the school) and designate parking areas near the schools.)
For his part, Mayor Jonas Cortes, urges the Mandaue City Police Office to heighten the police visibility in the barangays.

465 more cops
Earlier, Lieutenant Colonel Franco Rudolf Oriol, deputy city dorector for administration and spokesperson, said they planned to deploy at least 465 additional police personnel to man polling precincts one day before the BSKE.
Mayor Cortes also encourages candidates to coordinate and always follow the rules and guidelines of Comelec.
The mayor hopes for a peaceful and orderly elections.
“Paningkamutan gyud nato nga peaceful sama sa nanglabay nga mga elections,” said Cortes.
