CEBU CITY, Philippines— The Toledo-Xignex Trojans and two of their players are leading the team and individual standings, respectively in the PCAP Wesley So Cup.
The Trojans, leaders of the Southern Division standings with nine wins and one defeat also have Women’s FIDE Master (WFM) Cherry Ann Mejia as the current individual leader with an unbeaten 18-0-2 (win-loss-draw) record.
At the No. 2 spot is another Trojan, Cebuano Grand Master (GM) Richard Bitoon who has a 16-2-2 (win-loss-draw) mark.
Both WFM Mejia and GM Bitoon have 27 accumulated points from their respective records.

The No. 3 to No. 10 players in the Top 25 are April Joy Ramos (Cagayan Kings), Allan Asuela (Camarines Soaring Eagles), Joel Banawa (Isabela Knights of Alexander), Jimmy Ty (RCM Cebu Niños), Mark Kevin Labog (Pasig City King Pirates), Narquinden Reyes (San Juan Predators), Narquingel Reyes (San Juan Predators), and Rogelio Barcenilla Jr. (Laguna-PECA), respectively.
Also, the Trojans David Elorta is ranked No. 14 with an 11-4-5 record, followed by International Master (IM) Kim Steven Yap with a 13-1-6 card at No. 15.
In their previous match last October 14, the Trojans split their two matches with a win and a loss, as the inter-division round of the tournament started.
They beat the former PCAP champions, the Laguna-PECA, 14.5-6.6, but lost against the San Juan Predators, 9.5-11.5.
Still, they remain on top of the Southern Division standings, followed by Iloilo Kisela Knights and RCM Cebu Niños. /rcg
