7 nabbed in Lapu-Lapu drug bust

SEVEN persons including a woman were arrested by police in a  buy-bust operation at Sacred Heart Village, Purok Tambis in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City at 4 p.m. last Tuesday.

PO1 Wilbert Parilla, chief of the Hoops Dome police precinct, identified the suspects as 34-year-old resident Ricardo Barruela,  35-year-old Ramil Fuentes and 36-year-old Brendo Bahio of barangay Pajac.

Also arrested were 36-year-old Paul Baguio of Osmeña Street in barangay Gun-ob, 19-year-old Jhastin Barruela of Sacred Heart Village and 27-year-old Sarah Libaton of Purok Kapayas, barangay Canjulao.

Police said about P236,000 worth of drugs were seized from the suspects.

Parilla said Barruela was arrested during the buy bust operation and the six other suspects were arrested while having a pot session inside Barruela’s home.

Also seized from their possession were six medium sized plastic packs containing shabu, P400 marked money, P900 cash proceeds and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The suspects were brought to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital for examination and turned over at the Lapu-Lapu City police precinct.

Chief Supt. Prudencio Bañas, Police Regional Office chief, said they have arrested 2,857 suspects and filed 3,749 cases against them in court.
