MANDAUE CITY, Philippines – The owners of dogs and cats killed in Aliño Compound, Barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City on December 2 have withdrawn their complaints against the foreigner accused of killing the pets using rat poison.
The complainants and the wife of the foreigner met at the Barangay Hall on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
The foreigner was summoned by Barangay Captain Francis Karlo Remedio after they received complaints about seven dogs and five cats allegedly killed in the compound.
But Remedio said that the foreigner was unable to attend the meeting because of medical issues.
However, one neighbor and owner of one of the dogs that died wants to pursue and file a case against the foreigner, which is why Remedio scheduled another meeting in January.
Remedio said that the other pet owners decided to forgive the foreigner after he asked for their forgiveness.
Wala naman ila iro,” said Remedio.
Remedio said that, according to the wife of the foreigner who is already 60 years old, he poisoned the pets because they were very noisy, especially at night.
