Ayala Center Cebu, in cooperation with independent record label 22 Tango Records, brings you Songs of Summer, a weekly folk music fest that happens every Wednesday starting this April and May. A spin-off of the label’s pop-up music series, Folk City, Songs of Summer will be set at the roof garden of Ayala Center Cebu’s new wing. The event series will feature homegrown live music amidst a set designed by local set design company Cuckoocloud Concepts that will complement the intimate experience. Cebuanos and visitors alike will have the opportunity to experience homegrown music, free of charge, with the convenience of a mall venue.
Songs of Summer was conceived by 22 Tango Records to create a space for local singer-songwriters to share their stories, express themselves, and celebrate the unique homegrown sound. Performers who could very well be our neighbors tell their stories of love and loss, of dreams and nightmares.
Over the course of two months, Songs of Summer will feature singer-songwriters and acts including Mother Folker, The Labrats, Womb, the Wonggoys, Vincent Eco, Jessica McYorker, Mary Anchit, My Dragon Eats Cat Food, Ella Melendez, and Three-Legged Men, among many others.
Spend your summer nights under the diamond sky while listening to tales of the heart and soul through poignant poetry and beautiful melodies with Songs of Summer, every Wednesday, starting April 8 at 8pm at the roof garden of Ayala Center Cebu’s new wing.
