Chef Chang logs sixth straight win

BATCH 2007-Chef Chang, the youngest team in the league, cruised to its sixth straight win with 67-50 smashing of Batch 1995-La Nueva Pharmacy last Thursday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.

Juan Carlos Espada fired 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Batch 2007, while Robin Chu scattered 18 markers. Paolo Revil pitched in 15 points for Batch 2007, which improved to 6-3 (win-loss).

Dean Dy Teves collected 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Joseph James Yu added 12 markers in Batch 1995’s third loss in 10 games.

In the other game, Batch 2005-Headway Motorcycle Hub picked up just its second win in the tournament by drowning Batch 2006-1st ACY Shipping Corp./Cebu Regal Pension House, 85-51.

Kent Uy finished with 22 points, Philip Lua scored 17 and Ryan Chua tallied 16 points as Batch 2005 climbed to 2-9.

In last Tuesday’s games, Batch 1986/‘90s/2000s edged out Batch 1990s/2001-AJL Surplus, 74-71, while Batch 1988-Dewfoam tripped Batch 1987/2000s-Vancere Toys, 67-54.
