ALREADY boasting of a potent offense that helped net them the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) men’s basketball title last year, the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras added another dimension to their dynamic attack as they added former University of Cebu (UC) wingman Janjan Auditor to their fold.
Auditor was the last man standing from UC’s 2011 title-winning squad, a team that was led by now-PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo and current Blackwater guard Brian Heruela.
After playing his guts out for the Webmasters last year and averaging team-high numbers of 18 points, five rebounds and 2.3 steals per game, Auditor decided a change of scenery was best and quickly found a home at the Cobras’ lair.
The 6-foot wingman is eligible to play immediately this season and will not undergo any residency by way of the Cesafi rule that states: “A player who has finished his college course and has played only for four years and have still one more year is allowed to transfer to play the remaining one year in another Cesafi member school if he enrols in Law or Medicine or he enrolls in a course not offered by his present school.”
“Of course I’m so happy, lucky, thankful and quite overwhelmed to be a part of this team. Not everyone will be given a chance to play in this kind of team,” Auditor said.
Auditor is expected to fill in the gap left behind by Fil-Canadian Adams Mohammed.
