THE UNIVERSITY of San Carlos (USC) dominated during the first day of competition in the M. Lhuillier Summer League as their teams logged in five wins across the three divisions last Saturday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
USC started rolling in the under-12 class, where it nipped the University of the Visayas (UV), 41-38.
In other games in the same division, Monterey School thrashed LCC, 32-15; Ateneo de Cebu clobbered the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation, 53-32; and Bacay Elementary school got past Don Bosco in double overtime, 39-36.
Then, USC and sister team, USC South, displayed their dominance in the under-15 division with the former destroying Ateneo de Cebu, 68-36, and the latter beating Abellana, 55-46.
USP-F and Jagobiao were also winners after they defeated St. Cecilia’s, 54-49, and LCC, 53-40, respectively.
In the under-19 division, the USC Warriors slipped past Ateneo de Cebu 1, 49-40, while USC drubbed Jagobiao, 93-38. Ateneo de Cebu 2 salvaged the day for the school with a 55-43 win over USP-F A while USP-F B routed Abellana, 90-22. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
