THE 1ST Kopiko Cycling Circuit will hit the roads today starting and finishing at the Lantaw Restaurant at the South Road Properties.
The event, which is organized by Team Kalit and co-sponsored by Cycling Project Proponent, will be held in four Saturdays starting today. It continues on May 17, 23 and 30.
The circuit is a point-to-point race, meaning there will be no time involved but only points for the riders. These points will be compiled and, after the last race day, will be totaled to determine the overall winner of the circuit.
Four categories will be featured in the race; the Open Category, Category C, Golden Category and the Huna-Huna ra’y Gadako (HG) Category.
In the HG category, the organizers explained that the qualification for the riders is their body conditioning or to be specific, the lack of it.
The champion in every leg will be awarded 10 points followed by the 2nd placer, who will earn 7 points, the 3rd placer who will be with credited 5 points, the 4th placer gets 3 points and the 5th placer gains 2 points.
