THE SACRED Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu claimed the second seed heading to the semifinals in the under-19 division after beating the University of San Carlos-Basic Education Department (USC-BED), 57-46, in the M. Lhuillier Summer League over at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
The Magis Eagles leaned on the 18 points of budding star Joshua Sinclair and the 11 of Patrick Yu, the younger brother of current National University Bulldog Dave Wilson Yu.
Ateneo de Cebu, Ateneo de Cebu 2 and USC-BED actually ended the elimination round with identical 5-2 (win-loss) marks but Ateneo de Cebu nabbed the higher seed by virtue of its higher quotient.
The USC Warriors finished as the top seed after they won their seventh game in a row in a 59-26 dismantling of the Abellana National School.
The semifinals will see USC battling Ateneo de Cebu 2 and Ateneo de Cebu battling once again the USC-BED.
