Brace for heavier traffic on A. Soriano Street in Cebu City or avoid it altogether.
Starting tomorrow, May 27, one lane will be closed for road-concreting work for two months.
The lane facing Queen City Memorial Garden will not be open to vehicles.
Only south-bound vehicles can use the other lane facing the sea.
Rehabiltiation work on the national road is being undertaken by the Department of Public Works.
Motorists heading north to Mandaue City are advised to instead use S. Osmeña Street, which was reopened after road concreting was done, said Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) head
Joy Tumulak. He said the contractor, Blimex Contsruction Company, said it would try to finish work earlier than two months.
Citom will field more enforcers to expected choke points. Congestion will spill over to the corners of Juna Luna and J. de Veyra St., Juan Luna and J. Briones St. Vehicles from the south passing in front of the Cebu City Health Office have to turn left on J. de Veyra and J. Briones streets.
