THE Cebu City Day Care Workers’ Federation will celebrate the National Day Care Workers’ Week on June 7-11 with the theme “Day Care Workers: Sa Matapat, Mahusay at Magiliw na Paglilingkod, Kakayahan at Kagalingan ng mga Bata ay Sigurado.”
The annual celebration serves as a venue to recognize the contributions of day-care workers who provide substitute parental care and early childhood education to children ages 2-4 years old ingovernment-operated day-care centers nationwide.
The week-long celebration will kick off on June 8 with a fun walk to be participated by 255 day-care workers from the city’s 80 barangays from Cebu City Hall to barangay Tinago gym, where a Holy Mass will be held at 9 a.m. The opening program and cheering competition at 1 p.m. will follow.
On June 9, activities include volleyball competition at 9 a.m. and Pinoy games in the afternoon. The championship round for the volleyball competition will be held on the next day, followed by the search for Ms. Day Care Worker and Ms. Homebased at 1 p.m.
The culminating activity on June 11 will be held at the Plaza Sugbo.
Highlight of the celebration this year is the official recognition of outstanding day-care worker of Cebu City and the presentation of loyalty awards to day-care workers who have reached 10 years in service.
