Elastogel, two others share lead

ELASTOGEL, Polyfloor and Stay Clean continued to reign supreme in the standings after they outclassed their respective opponents in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Association 1st Davies Cup last Saturday at the University of San Carlos gym.

Polyfloor leaned on a furious fourth period uprising to put down the undermanned yet gritty Fusion squad, 61-52.

Fusion, five players and all, actually led from the onset until the third period as they headed to the final frame on top, 47-43.

Fusion eventually faltered while Polyfloor found its second wind to snatch its third win in four games.

Malvin Malicdem paced Polyfloor with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds while Loreniel Tequin nearly had the same output with 14 points, nine boards peppered with four assists and three blocks.

Klevin Murillo had 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals for Fusion while Julius Orit pitched in 13 points and five rebounds.

Niel Benedicto had a double-double of 12 markers and 12 rebounds.

In other games, Elastogel routed the Acreex, 68-55, while Stay Clean slipped past Aqua Gloss, 65-63.

Mike Cinco had an excellent outing with 22 points while JR Partosa ably backed him up with 18.

Elastogel, Polyfloor and Stay Clean share the top with similar 3-1 (win-loss) records while Fusion fell to 2-2. Acreex and Aqua Gloss bring up the bottom with 1-3 and 0-4 records, respectively.
