VENDORS, tricycle drivers and community groups from Cordova town and Lapu-Lapu City received financial assistance for their livelihood projects from Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano last May 23.
An association of vendors with 172 members from Cordova town got P100,000 assistance. Cayetano said he will double the amount once the group’s livelihood project grows and prospers.
The Basak-Gun-ob Tricycle Drivers Association from Lapu-Lapu City also received P100,000 as start-up capital for its money-lending service for members.
More than 200 tricycle drivers lauded the project and hoped that their organization will manage the project competently.
The Kababayen-an group endorsed by Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza to Cayetano also received P50,000 livelihood project assistance.
He said he will announce his political plans by September or October as the Senate is still tackling the issue on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).
“There should be a revision to the BBL. We do not want war but we do not have to give Mindanao away from the Philippines,” said Cayetano.
