AROUND 700 runners have already enlisted for this Sunday’s biennial footrace organized by the A-Plus All Weather Paint and dubbed “A-Plus All Weather Fun Run II” that will start and end at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
A-Plus All Weather Paint’s Visayas-Mindanao Operations chief Pepito Lim said they are expecting to draw the bulk of runners today the final day of registration at the Runnr in the Ayala Center Cebu and Toby’s Sports in SM City Cebu.
“We are still short of 300 runners for our 1,000 target entries so I am calling all Cebuano runners again to join this race which happens only once in two years. We also have exciting prizes to be raffled off and big cash prizes to the winners,” Lim said.
Around P90,000 worth of cash prizes will be given out to the winning runners in each distance. The event which will carry the theme “Run for a Happy and Healthy Heart” will donate all race proceeds to the Asilo Dela Milagrosa Orphanage.
Lim added that Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and his celebrity wife Heart Evangelista will definitely grace the run and the free medical mission which is held in cooperation with the Knights of Columbus at the Pag-IBIG open parking area. However, he can’t confirm if Chiz and Heart will join the race.
Veteran race director Joel Baring of the Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE) will handle the run which will feature a 5-kilometer, 10k and 21k half marathon distances.
