FIVE CEBUANOS managed to land in the Top 10 of the 17th Negros Tenpin Bowling Open held last June 3 to 7 at the Lopue’s East Bowling Center in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
The best Cebuano performer was Aui Padawan of the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA)-PRIMA, who downed a total of 1,621 pins to finish second behind champion Herman Santos of the Sugarbowl Tenpin Association, Inc. (1,657).
Luther Tapaya, also of BTA, wound up third as he finished with 1,617 pinfalls. The next best Cebuano was Jake Yap of the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA)-EBC, who settled for sixth place with 1,582 pinfalls.
Vivian Padawan of CETBA finished with 1,574 pinfalls for seventh place while Xyrra Cabusas was at 10th place with 1,525 pinfalls.
A total of 85 bowlers competed in the event.
The top 30 bowlers made it to the master’s event, where they were trimmed down to just 10. The Top 10 played three more games for the finale.
