Seno loses anew

TOLEDO CITY—Philippine National Games-bound RJ Abarquez dealt another heartache to Bogo City’s pride Jan Godfrey Seno.

Weeks after the losing in his hometown in Bogo City, Seno once again dropped an 8-4 decision to Abarquez in the championship game of the 1st St. John de Sahagún Men’s Open Tennis Championship at the Toledo City Tennis Club here.

The 21-year-old  Abarquez used his experience to the hilt as he subdued the 15-year-old Seno in capturing his second men’s open title of the year. He also won the title in the 2015 Cebu City Men’s Open tennis tournament earlier this year in  Cebu City.

In the double’s competition, the tandem of Adonis Lominoque and Janjie Soquino proved too much to handle for the young pair of Chang Mai Necesario and Amil Aya-ay as the latter duo walked away with the title with an 8-3 win.

The other participants of the event, held in line with the coming fiesta celebration of Toledo City in honor of St. John de Sahagún, were Rangkol Guillemer, Titus Tabo-tabo, Roy Tabo-tabo, LL Ruelan, Dodong Herolaga, UC’s Clyde Bienes, Shanur Khandaker and Alfer Ruaya.
