AFTER a grueling elimination round, the final eight squads remaining do battle for spots in the semifinals, in the quarterfinals of the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup today at the Arena in San Juan City.
The hostilities kick off at 11 a.m. as Group B’s top seed, the Centro Escolar University (CEU) Pink Scorpions face the Cebuano-laden Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws.
The Tams boast of having several standouts from the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) including Raymar Jose, Monbert Arong, Ron Dennison and Roger Ray Pogoy.
This will be followed by the game between the Jose Rizal University (JRU) Heavy Bombers and the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors at 1 p.m.
NCAA champions San Beda Red Lions will then take the floor at 3 p.m. without lead guard Baser Amer when they battle age-old rivals, Letran.
Finally, Group A top seed Perpetual Help will duke it out against the La Salle Green Archers in the day’s final match at 5 p.m.
