UC Berkeley prof to speak in computer animation seminar

A PROFESSOR from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences in the University of California Berkeley will share insights on his research in physical modeling for computer graphics.

Jonathan Richard Shewchuk will visit the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu on June 15 to discourse upon the Dynamic Meshing for Fluid Simulations in Computer Animation.

Shewchuk is best known for his software triangle for high-quality triangular mesh generation, which won the 2003 James Hardy Wilkinson Prize in Numerical Software, and his “Introduction to the

Conjugate Gradient Method Without the Agonizing Pain.”

The seminar will be held at the UP Cebu audio-visual room 2 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
