Omega Boxing Gym bets win in Bukidnon

OMEGA Boxing Gym boxers picked up victories outside Cebu as Christian “Mister Pogi” Araneta and Tom Jones Mangubat defeated their foes last Sunday night in Bukidnon.

Araneta, the Cebuano knockout artist, logged his ninth victory as a professional boxer when he floored Jason Neri with a vicious left uppercut at the two minute mark of the fourth round of their scheduled 10-round showdown.

Neri was not able to beat the referee’s count en route to suffering his first loss in eight bouts.

Araneta, the reigning Philippines Boxing Federation light flyweight champion, remained unbeaten in nine fights and scored his eighth win by knockout.

Mangubat, meanwhile, stayed perfect after three fights, scoring a knockout win when he connected on a right uppercut to the chin of Ronald Garcia (2-9) in the second round of their scheduled six-round duel. All of Mangubat’s wins are by knockouts.

The victories were good follow ups to the victory of the unbeaten Jack “Golden Boy” Tepora (14-0, 10KOs).

The Omega Boxing bet also scored a technical knockout victory against journeyman Jelo Merlin in Bacolod last June 12.

Stablemate Jason “Dodong” Canoy also scored an upset victory when he knocked out former WBA interim junior bantamweight champion Drian Francisco in General Santos City last May 31.

The Omega Boxing Gym boxers are trained by veteran trainer Christopher “Ping-ping” Tepora.
