CEBU Gov. Hilario Davide III said he was not disturbed by the announcement of former governor Emilio “Lito” Osmeña that he would reveal damaging information against Davide that would show a “heinous crime” was committed against Cebu by the administration.
“Let him reveal it, whatever it is. I do not know what he is talking about,” Davide told reporters yesterday on the sidelines of a full council meeting of the Metro Cebu Development and Coordinating Body (MCDCB) at the Capitol yesterday.
Osmeña was a guest during the 888 News Forum on Tuesday where he said he was disappointed with the governor and “machinations in Malacañang” with the Liberal Party that put Cebu at a disadvntage.
Osmeña said he was waiting to gather more evidence before revealing it after the State of the Nation Address of President Aquino.
Davide, who is seeking reelection, said that he respects Lito Osmeña and Tommy Osmeña, former mayor of Cebu City, who had convinced him to step out of his role as Cebu city councilor to seek the governorship five years ago.
“I respect them. He and Mayor Osmeña got me into this in 2010. They prodded me to run for governor,” he said.
He said Lito started to withdraw his support when Davide chose the late vice governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr. as his runningmate.
“Apparently, he did not like the late vice governor,” said Davide.
Both Davide and Osmeña have announced their bids for the Cebu governorship in 2016.
