THREE teams try to pump life into their sagging playoff campaign in today’s twinbill of the 40th PBA Governors’ Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Kia Carnival  face the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters in the first game, while the NLEX Road Warriors battle the eliminated Blackwater Elite in the main match.

Today’s protagonists are looking to move out of a dreaded spot in the team standings.

Blackwater is already out of contention after winning just once in their first nine outings. It will mark the third straight conference that the Elite will not get past the elimination round of their maiden season.

Sister teams NLEX and Talk ‘N Text are in danger of missing the playoffs as they are currently ranked 10th and 11th, respectively.

The bottom four after the 11-game elimination round will be booted out.

The Road Warriors, loser of three straight games sport a 2-7 (win-loss) record. Talk ‘N Text, one of the pre-tournament favorites only has four wins against six losses.

Also toting a 4-6 slate are the Barangay Ginebra Kings.

Talk ‘N Text is coming off a 93-105 loss to defending champions Star Hotshots.

The Carnival for their part are tied with the Hotshots for the seventh and eight spots with identical 4-5 records.
