Gearheads from south Cebu gather for Southside Car and Bike Show Volume 1

Car and bike enthusiasts from the southern part of Cebu got together over the weekend for the Southside Car and Bike Show Volume 1 at the South Town Centre open parking area, in Talisay City.

The 2-day event featured a wide array modified cars and bikes from Cebu’s south side areas, mostly coming from Talisay City, Pardo and Minglanilla.

A total of 40 low-profile cars and 30 custom-themed motorbikes were displayed in the show also held in line with the celebration of Father’s Day last Sunday.

According to the event organizer Roy Albert Urot, the event was a “car limbo rock” activity, which meant it was a competition for the lowest cars and bikes in the event.

Among the head turners of the show included an orange-colored Mitsubishi Pajero with a booming sound system, a the dazzling red Kia Picanto, a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle and an orange customized Yamaha Mio MX.

This Harley Davidson is the event’s Best of Show Motorbike. It is also owned by Jimbo Cabusas.

SHOW WINNERS
As with other auto shows, awards were given after the two-day event.

Jimbo Cabusas got two major awards as his red/yellow-combo colored 2003 Honda Civic won the People’s Choice Award and his  black Harley Davidson bagged the Best of Show Motorbike plum.

Camilo Bagcat’s sky-blue-colored Mitsubishi Eclipse, meanwhile, was awarded the Best of Show Car title.

The Eclipse was customized by Joyride Auto Styling of known bodykit maker Leejib Baring.

The car also won the Best Custom Modified Category title and placed second in both best engine and best light display.

The Cebu Audio Mobile Enthusiasts, meanwhile, was named the best car club.

The sponsors of the event were Kia Motors, Mang Ondo, Pillows Hotel, Nice Day Carwash, RMG Car Care, Aftershift Autoshow, D & G and Duke Spa.
