At least 170 Capitol employees are entitled to avail of the provincial government’s new incentive program for employees of retirement age.
Employees aged 51 to 64 years old may be able to claim their benefits by August or September this year.
“This will help their transition from the government service back to their private lives,” said Mark Tolentino, Cebu provincial administrator, during a media briefing at the Capitol yesterday.
This is in line with an ordinance providing benefits for voluntary separation incentive packages to qualified employees in the provincial government service.
The ordinance was passed on mass motion during the Provincial Board’s (PB) regular session last June 15. Each employee is offered a different package depending on which age group he or she belongs.
