Two men were charged with murder before the Regional Trial Court in Cebu City for the fatal shooting of a woman who was sleeping on a bench outside her residence in barangay Tejero, Cebu City.
The Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office charged Nano Occor and Aljay Lahaylahay with murder.
The two were identified by a witness as the persons who shot Lucita Canaway at around 4 a.m. last June 12, 2014.
The witness was the victim’s live-in partner.
He later retracted the identification, saying he made a mistake and that two other persons might have shot Canaway.
Prosecutor Simaco Labata, however, said the court will decide on the witness’ recantation.
