Prisaa to include HS players

THE PRIVATE Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) has just gotten bigger after its national leadership decided to include the secondary competition as a regular event in the annual multi-sporting event.

Prisaa 7’s Bernard Ricablanca told Cebu Daily News yesterday that the decision was made during a Strategic Planning forum held recently in Koronadal, South Cotabato, which will the next hosts of the Prisaa National Games.

Ricablanca, athletic director of the University of Cebu, attended the stregic planning together with Prisaa-7 president Fr. Vic Uy of the Holy Name University in Bohol.

“The Prisaa decided during our meeting headed by newly elected national president Fr. Jessie Pasquin of Region 12 to make the secondary competition a regular feature in the Prisaa Games,” Ricablanca, who is also a Prisaa national secretariat member, said.

“ But there will only be seven events. This means, every region will now have regular teams in both the collegiate level and the high school level.”

Also, Ricablanca said that the Prisaa strategic planning included plans for the next five years and one of this is to step up their recruitment of member schools, especially in Dumaguete City, which will become part of the planned Negros Region.

The regional Prisaa this year will be hosted by Prisaa-Cebu on February 2016, while the national competition is scheduled April 3 to 9, 2016 in Koronadal.
