SIX TEAMS took a step closer to the championship of their respective divisions as they hurdled their semifinals opponents in the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Summer League last weekend at the USC North Campus gym.

To nobody’s surprise, the 1985 Androids-Aceite de Manzanilla barged into the final round of Division 1 with a 75-51 victory over the 1986 Mighty Geeks.

Bing Pua led the way with 23 points while former pro Lou Regidor backed his buddy up with 21 markers.

The Androids will be taking on Batch 1993  after the Dragons outlasted the 1988 Barakos in overtime, 60-56.

Left-handed big man Bong Eleazar paced the Dragons with 16 markers while Jade Ylanan and Jopher Regidor scored 10 each.

In Division 2, the 2011 Dos Mil Uno-Lite Shipping will face off with the 1994 Bulldogs.

Dos Mil Uno edged the 1999ers, 72-70, behind Conrad Plando’s 20 points.

The Bulldogs, on the other hand, took care of the Millennium 2000 with a 74-67 victory.

Sigmundo Cabrera led the charge with 16 while Jake Velayo contributed to the cause with 13.

In Division 3, the 2011 Elevens emerged victorious over the 2007 Dosmilsiete Waybus, 60-55, to book a spot in the finals.

Prince Malana proved to be the difference-maker as he submitted 18 points while Arsenio Uy added 12.

Standing opposite them in the finals will be the 2006 Fury, who demolished the 2004 Rebels 67-44 behind Justin delos Reyes’ 18 points.
