Cebu City Police Officers covered the crime scene in IT Park, Lahug.

A young call center agent was shot dead at around 1 a.m. yesterday in front of the I1 Tower in Cebu IT Park in barangay Apas, Cebu City.

Deogracias Guda III, 21, a native of Antipolo del Sur, Lipa City, died immediately.

BACKSTORY: Man shot in IT Park

He sustained a gunshot wound in his chest.

The victim was temporarily staying in barangay Timpolok, Lapu-Lapu City.

He was a newly-hired call center agent of Convergys.

SP02 Rommel Bancug, Cebu City Police Office homicide investigator, said the victim was about to report for work at 12:45 a.m. when an unidentified man shot him once using a .45 caliber pistol.

The CCTV footage on Guda’s death went viral on social media.

Based on the footage, the gunman waited for Guda for about 10 minutes.

His face was not clear in the footage as the area is dimly lit and he did not take off his helmet.

But he was shown wearing a pair of short pants and a T-shirt.

The footage showed that upon arrival, Guda parked his motorcycle near the area where the gunman was waiting.

He was on his way to I1 Tower when the gunman allegedly called his attention.

Guda went back and met the gunman, who shot the victim in the chest and immediately fled on board a motorcycle that was parked nearby.

Bancug said the plate number of the gunman’s motorcycle was not captured on CCTV.

He said they believe Guda and the gunman knew each other.

He said Guda’s mother told them that the victim had a wife and child, but they are living abroad.

Senior Insp. Elizandro Quijano, homicide section chief, said a woman had told them she was in a relationship with Guda.

The woman allegedly has a live-in partner, Quijano said.

“We are considering love triangle as the most possible motive,” Quijano said.

Guda’s remains are at St. Francis Funeral Homes.

Police investigators recovered one empty shell and a slug of a .45 caliber pistol in the crime scene.

Bancug hopes that witnesses of the incident will come forward and help them solve the crime.

George Michael Ralloma, also a call center agent, said that there was a lady guard inside the lobby of I1 but there was no guard near the crime scene./WITH UP CEBU INTERNS MARY CLAIRE U. CATADO AND JULIENNE HAZEL PENSERGA
