Cop escapes in drug raid

A POLICEMAN may be facing charges after he was allegedly seen accompanying a suspected drug pusher who was the subject of an operation by Toledo City Police Station at around 5 p.m Tuesday in barangay Tubod, Toledo City.

The operatives saw PO1 Marvin Tundag of Pinamungajan Police Station with Wilson Villanueva when they raided a house believed to be used in repacking illegal drugs known as  shabu.

But Tundag and Villanueva  escaped from the authorities.

Supt. Ali Baron, chief of Toledo City police, said they received a call from a concerned citizen about the presence of armed men who got off from a car with NAB 213.

They imemdiately responded but Tundag and Villanueva may have sensed their presence.

They broke the jalousie blades of the window and jumped leaving behind four large plastic packs containing white substance believed to be shabu estimated to worth

P57,000, a .45 caliber pistol with one magazine, several drug paraphernalia and plastic packs used for repacking illegal drugs.

Senior Insp. Ruben Verbo, chief of police of Pinamungjan police, was surprised about the report.

He said Tundag is a silent type person and is even assigned at the  station’s  community relations officer.
