Valuables stolen in ‘Police Raid’

SIX men broke into a house in Mandaue City claiming to be part of a police operation.

Two of the intruders identified themselves as policemen.

When they left, occupants found some of their valuables were gone.

Juditha Gaviola, live-in partners Christian Neil Ruiz and Elizalyn Giducos said the visitors arrived at 3 a.m. and entered their house in barangay Looc.

One man said he was PO1 Rodgene Siquinio. Another man identified himself as Donde Comendador.

Both men said they were  searching  the house as operatives of the Centro Police Station looking for a certain Badjao.

When the left, house occupants noticed that three cellphones and  P280 cash was missing.

When the occupants reported to the police, Insp. Jimmy Fortes confirmed that the Centro Police Station has an operative named PO1 Rodgene Siquinio.

Fortes, chief of the Centro Police, said the matter will be investigated by the Detective Management Branch to avoid suspicion of partiality.

Fortes said Siquinio denied he was in barangay Looc when the alleged break-in happened and that his name was just used to mislead the occupants.

Fortes said the Centro police did not conduct any raid in Looc that day.

Siquinio said he  was previously assigned in Opao Police Station which includes Looc in its jurisdiction.
