A “bayad center” will be opened at the Cebu City Hall satellite branch in barangay Taptap to allow residents of 36 mountain barangays to pay their bills on time.
Andrew Torres, barangay affairs head, said the center will open on July 24. It will accept payments for utility bills and government fees every last Wednesday of the month.
Among the merchants that will accept payments through the “bayad center” will be all four major telecommunication companies (PLDT, Smart, Sun, Globe), Metropolitan Cebu Water District, Visayan Electric Co. (VECO) and Skycable.
Premium contributions and other fees for PhilHealth, Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG will also be accepted as well as payments for the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the National Statistics Office (NSO).
Credit card payments for BDO, Metrobank, Security Bank, Standard Chartered, UnionBank, UCPB, RCBC and Bankard will be accepted.
Remittance services through Transfast, Asia United Bank, Smart Money, Xoom, iRemit, Moneygram, myRemit, Sendah Remit, BDO Remit, Ria and Globe G-cash will also be available.
“We have been working on this for the past three months. The good thing about this is we are able to help a lot of people,” Torres said.
City Hall sa Bukid was established to bring the city government’s basic services closer to the people.
