THE CEBU City Sports Commission (CCSC) will be holding a strength and conditioning training for all the coaches and athletes listed under the commission’s ongoing grassroots sports development programs soon.
CCSC chairman Edward Hayco told Cebu Daily News yesterday that the training starts Aug. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City.
The upcoming training is not just limited to the sports events involved in the grassroots sports development programs of the CCSC.
“All sporting events are welcomed in the coming training,” said Hayco.
The CCSC is currently involved in a wide ranged grassroots training program focused on 17 events aimed towards the improvement of the talents of the Cebuano athletes for future local, national or even international competitions.
These are dancesports, volleyball, basketball, arnis, archery, boxing, badminton, chess, karatedo, soccer, indoor sepak takraw, softball, taekwondo, table tennis, track and field, weightlifting and touch rugby. Also in the running is the air rifle grassroots sports development program.
