BOXING superstar Manny Pacquiao continues to expand his reach in basketball as he is set to bring the country back to the ASEAN Basketball League with the newly-formed Pacman Mindanao Eagles.
According to a report on Inquirer.net, the eight-division boxing champion has partnered with Zamboanga-based businessmen Mark Chiong and Rolando Navarro Jr.
to form the Eagles whose lineup is expected to be composed of players from the Mindanao region. The team will be manned by head coach Nino Rejhi Natividad.
The Eagles have big shoes to fill after the country’s previous representatives in the ABL – the Philippine Patriots and the San Miguel Beermen – went on to win championships in the regional league.
