With less than two weeks before their first fight together on foreign soil, the Pagara brothers of Maasin City are confident of making good account of themselves as they headline Pinoy Pride 32: Duel in Dubai II at the Dubai World Trade Center on Aug. 7.
ALA Boxing Gym chief trainer Edito Villamor announced that his wards, IBF Intercontinental junior featherweight champion “Prince” Albert Pagara (26-0, 13 KOs) and his older brother, WBO International super lightweight king Jason “El Niño” Pagara (35-2, 22 KOs) are both ready to annihilate their Mexican foes.
Albert will face Jesus “Chito” Rios (31-7-1, 25 KOs) in the main event while Jason will fight Ramiro Alcaraz (15-4, 9 KOs) in the co-mainer.
The boxers will leave for Dubai on Friday.
“They are both very ready for Dubai. They prepared very well for this fight and have almost completed their training camp,” said Villamor.
According to Villamor, the training of 21-year-old Albert Pagara is essentially impressive since he sparred with no less than five-division world champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr. and Cebuano rising prospect Mark “Machete” Bernaldez.
The 26-year old Jason, meanwhile, sparred with the veteran Jimrex “Executioner” Jaca who will also fight in the Dubai card. He also sparred with Arjan “Spartan” Canillas and Elmo Traya.
Villamor said that the fighting siblings have completed around a hundred sparring rounds each at the famed ALA Boxing Gym in Talamban, Cebu City.
“Expect an impressive performance from both the Pagaras because they trained very hard for this fight. We are confident that they will both win impressively,” Villamor added.
Meanwhile, Jaca (39-8-6, 22KOs) will take on Mexican Pablo Lugo Montiel (21-5, 17KOs).
