The booters of the PAREF Springdale Titans put on a commanding performance and bagged two titles in the 1st Univille Football Festival at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) yesterday.
The Titans dominated the under-11 mixed division by trouncing Consolacion FC, 2-0, in their championship match. PAREF Springdale sealed its second crown by dumping San Roque FC, 4-0, in the title duel of the under-nine mixed division.
The Consolacion FC did not go home empty-handed after it ruled the under-seven mixed division, while the University of San Carlos-Basic Education Department (USC-BED) dominated the under-13 boys’ division.
PAREF Springdale’s under-11 mixed squad finished the elimination round in Group C with three wins. It advanced to the semifinals by winning over MAD FC, 3-0, and booked a championship ticket by edging the Talisay Razkals, 2-1.
In the under-nine mixed, PAREF Springdale collected 14 points after tallying four wins, two draws and a single loss.
Consolacion FC, on the other hand, finished the Group C eliminations with three wins. It nipped the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC), 1-0, in the quarterfinals and advanced to the championship match by defeating Guardian Strikers FC, 2-0.
Consolacion FC iced the crown by routing San Roque FC, 6-0, in their championship match. The champion team finished the group stage with 15 points, while San Roque netted 12.
In the under-13 boys’ division, USC-BED pulled off a 1-0 win over Canduman FC in the championship match.
USC-BED made it to the championship round by finishing the group stage with two wins and a single draw. The team defeated Warshocks Phoenix, 3-0, in the semifinals for a good follow-up of its 4-1 quarterfinal win over Looc FC.
Games in the remaining age-group divisions will be competed today in the same venue.
