Stallions remain clean in E-League

Last year’s losing finalists Lexmark Stallions preserved their immaculate slate by taming the Wipro Tigers, 71-61, last Sunday in the 11th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.

The win allowed the Joph Cleopas-coached Stallions to tie the Convergys Converters at the number-one spot in the tough Elite Classic competition as the two squads now both tote 3-0 (win-loss) squads.

Franco Angelo Cipriano and Sylvester Millevo scored 14 points each to lead the Stallions with the former coming up with a double-double game after hauling down 11 rebounds.

Vill Duero added 11 markers for Lexmark, while Jan Oneil Sahilan pitched in 10.

Clifford Amarado scored 16 points, the lone player to score in twin digits for the Tigers, who succumbed to their second loss in three games.

Still in the Elite Classic, the ePerformax Reds barged into the win column by blasting the Sykes Pioneers, 73-62.
Improving to 1-2 (win-loss), the Reds got 20 points, nine rebounds, four steals and a block from  Mel Steven Duran. Angellan Visco added 18 markers, while John Ryan Benlota contributed 10.

Jose Vernie Diotay scattered 15 markers and Randolf Espinosa added 11 for the Pioneers, who dropped to 1-2.

In the EVO League, the Kyocera Frontiers nailed their third victory with just one loss after trashing the listless Teletech Titans, 75-49, while the Author Solutions Inc. Hardbacks finally got their first win by routing the Calltek Trojans.
