A woman and her 11-year-old daughter who went missing since Saturday last week were found dead in their home’s septic tank in Tungkil, Minglanilla.

The 37-year-old mother, Virginia Dialo Sharpe and her daughter Mica Ellah were buried in the septic tank supposedly by the carpenters who were furnishing a newly-bought home in Deca Homes Subdivision.

Virginia was last seen in the neighborhood, Saturday morning with one of the suspects, Manuel Labrador,  buying construction materials for the house.

Mary Ann Alipin, a close friend of Virginia was already wondering where Virginia was and thought they were out-of-town.

A mother of Mica Ellah’s classmate, Jasmine Montero went to the neighborhood last Tuesday to ask where the mother and daughter were after Mica Ella failed to take her first grade exams.

Montero went back yesterday and asked for the whereabouts of the mother and daughter from Alipin. The two were not feeling good about the absence of the two so they went to the barangay hall to report the incident.

The barangay hall called the police to check Sharpe’s house. After they failed to contact Sharpe at her home, the police forced open the door at her house and was greeted with a foul smell and flies swarming in the kitchen.

Police found a newly cemented portion in the kitchen near the toilet where the flies were swarming and broke it open, seeing the remains of the mother and daughter.

Senior Insp. Richard Gadingan, chief of the Minglanilla police said they already caught three suspects, all carpenters hired by Sharpe including Labrador, Estelito Recamora, 53 years old and George Baquiran, 47 year old.

Recamora said Labrador went to his house last Sunday to ask help to bury two dogs. He said he was surprised to find two bodies in the kitchen.

“Pag dominggo ra ko naka trabaho didto kay giadto ko ni Bunso (Labrador) sa balay kay patabang siya og lubong og iro (I only managed to work on Sunday because Labrador visited me at home and asked for help in burying dogs),” Recamora said.

But Labrador denied this saying it was Recamora who killed both victims. He said he was on the second floor when he saw the mother and daughter with blood in their heads.

He said it was Recamora who threatened to kill him unless he helps him bury the two victims. A cellphone of Sharpe was found in Labrador’s possession while the girl’s tablet computer is found in Recamora’s house.

Gadingan said the suspects may face double murder and robbery charges. He said they are considering Labrador as the prime suspect in the case. Baquiran was last seen working in Sharpe’s house last July.
