Much-needed help continued to pour in for the victims of supertyphoon Yolanda from the sports sector as the Kaiasse Doce Pares of the Reunion Islands donated 3,000 euros worth of relief goods over the weekend to different towns in the northern region of Cebu.
The group was headed by Master Jean Claude Calimoutou, his wife Jasmina and daughters Julie and Lea, as they distributed bags of rice and different food items at the towns of Tabogon, San Remegio and Bogo City. In addition, the Calimoutou family of St. Suzanne in Reunion Island, France, also committed to rehabilitate the Sr. San Roque Chapel in barangay Camoboan, Tabogon.
“We are the brothers and sisters of the Cebuano people and that is why we can’t abandon them at this time,” Jean Claude said in a press statement. “We will do whatever we can to help.”
Doce Pares Supreme Grandmaster Dionisio Canete, ODL (Order of the Datu Lapu-Lapu), meanwhile, expressed his elation over the help that was extended by the team from the Reunion Islands.
“I am happy that they had shared some more after seeing the devastation,” he said.
SGM Cañete also thanked President Robert Didier of Region Reunion Island for extending help to the Cebuano people who are still reeling from the devastation of the supertyphoon.
