St. Callistus Caravario and Blessed Michael Rua gained an early 2-0 lead in the team standings of the Don Bosco @ 200 Basketball Tournament after chalking up separate wins Saturday night at the Don Bosco Technology Center.
Caravario crushed Team Becchi Village, 57-47, while Rua defeated Team Blessed Laura Vicuña, 51-49.
RJ Acha led Team Caravario with 18 points and his three triples in the third quarter started his team’s fightback from a four-point deficit at the half.
In the other game, Joshua Cabahug top-scored for Team Rua with 14 points.
Chrissar Llegunas and Malvin Angel Malicdem also played key roles for the winning team as they combined efforts in the second half to help complete the win. Llegunas finished with 13 points while Malicdem added 11.
Team Vicuña got 17 points from Quincy “Jones” Adriano.
