PASAY CITY—In its bid to provide motorists with a wider range of top quality, yet affordable motorcycles, Suzuki Philippines launched last Aug. 21 three new models that are expected to create stiff competition in the Philippine market.
Suzuki Philippines unveiled the three new motorcycles during the “Suzuki Triple Threat” event held at the Blue Leaf Pilipinas in Pasay City.
The three brand-new models are the: Address, Gixxer and AX4. All three will be made available in different dealers nationwide soon.
The unveiling of the three motorcycles was spearheaded by Suzuki Philippines president Hiroshi Suzuki. Joining him were Yukio Yano, director for manufacturing and Engineering of Suzuki Philippines, Regional Sales Manager of Suzuki Philippines Jun Bulot, and Suzuki executives Yukio Yano and Hiroaki Muto.
Suzuki is excited and optimistic about the new models, which he said set higher standards in their respective categories.
“We have been waiting for this moment to finally showcase these new bikes– bikes that are global, stylish, powerful and fuel-efficient,” Suzuki said.
The Suzuki Address 115, known as the “Global Scooter,” replaces its previous line of scooter, the Nex 115.
Its target market is the Filipino youth because of its fun and stylish design. It is powered by a fuel-injected 113cc, 4-stroke, one-cylinder single overhead camshaft engine that has a maximum torque of 8.7 newton meter.
The Gixxer is a sports bike known for its performance. It runs on a 155cc, four stroke single cylinder air-cooled SOCH engine with a maximum torque of 14 NM.
The AX4 is the successor of the Suzuki X-4 that is mainly used in businesses.
It is powered by a 150cc, spark ignition four-stroke engine and is designed to withstand harsh environment and tough road conditions.
Its five-speed transmission system reduces vibrations for better riding comfort. It also has a heavy-duty single cradle frame and square pipe swing-arm.
