THE UNIVERSITY of San Carlos Lady Warriors (0-2) hope to regain their championship form as they gun for their first victory when they face the University of Cebu in the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) women’s volleyball tournament today at the USC gym.
USC, last year’s runner up, dropped its first two assignments against the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Lady Jaguars and the defending champions Southwestern University (SWU) Lady Cobras, respectively.
Now with a 0-2 (win-loss) record together with the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) White Stallions, the Lady Warriors are now at the bottom half of the standings.
In the men’s division, SWU aims to start its title-retention bid on a right track as it takes on the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters while the USJ-R Spiking Jaguars battle the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats.
SWU and USJ-R are favored to win against their opponents as both teams have crossed paths in last year’s championship round with the Cobras ending up victorious.
Girls’ action will also resume today as USJ-R (3-0) hunts for its fourth straight victory against USC (3-1). The University of Southern Philippines-Foundation Panthers (2-2) also takes on UC.
