The Cebu City government got a high 86.06 rating for compliance with Republic Act No. 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007 from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
The rating was based on a CSC survey conducted last Aug. 12-14.
The survey was based on feedback from clients (80 percent) and compliance with the CSC anti-red tape checklist (20 percent).
The city government rated 84.64 in areas like the no-noon break policy, no hidden cost on transaction that requires payments, wearing of ID cards and name plates, public assistance and complaints desks and compliance with the government’s anti-fixer campaign.
The city scored an 87 percent rating on overall client satisfaction in areas like respondent-client satisfaction, facilities, physical setup of offices and front line services.
Recommendations were given to enhance the service rendered by the city government such as designating offices for persons with disabilities and senior citizens on the same floor.
Other recommendations by the CSC include requiring city government employees to wear ID cards at all times and remain visible behind the tables.
Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella said the rating should not make city government employees complacent since they failed the same survey last year.
Labella said the Cebu city government will improve its performance next year.
