THE Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Central Visayas recognized outstanding individuals, organizations, and government agencies in different fields during the annual Honor Award Program (HAP) yesterday.

During the ceremony held at the Capitol Social Hall, Bohol Gov. Edgardo Chatto, chairman of the Regional Development Council (RDC 7), said the event was the first ever unified awards program for government agencies at a national level.

More than 100 offices, organizations, and institutions were recognized during the rites yesterday, attended by awardees from all over the region.

CSC’s HAP is an annual undertaking that recognizes government officials and employees who have displayed outstanding work and performance.

The awarding ceremony coincides with the celebration of the 115th anniversary of Philippine Civil Service.

Cebu Daily News received a certificate of recognition for its “unfaltering support to the Commission’s programs and projects as demonstrated by its active membership in the Civil Service Commission-Regional Office 7 Regional Advisory Council (RAC).”

Other Cebu members of the RAC that were recognized yesterday were Cebu Normal University, DYMR Radyo ng Bayan-Cebu, Metropolitan Cebu Water District, and the University of San Jose-Recoletos, among others.
Cebu City-based State Auditor Maria Daisy Bercede was also recognized as the region’s finalist for this year’s Dangal ng Bayan Award.

Bercede led the conduct of investigation on issues relating to finances at the Talisay City College, Bureau of Immigration, Talisay City, Lapu-Lapu City, and some barangays.
