A Global Campaign to Celebrate Marco Polo’s Birthday
Marco Polo Hotels is celebrating the birth of its namesake – Marco Polo – by holding a massive one-day global campaign for the first time.
September 15 marks the 761st birthday of the legendary explorer who spent over two decades travelling from his hometown of Venice, Italy to China. Ultimately, the Italian merchant journeyed almost 24,000 kilometers over land and sea. Marco Polo hotels embody the ethos of discovery, creating unique guest experiences and drawing on the key philosophies of the legendary explorer, global traveler, entrepreneur and connoisseur of culture – just as Marco Polo’s modern travelers are today.
All Marco Polo hotels will be initiating internal activities, promotions and events at their respective locations, while implementing digital marketing across Greater China to celebrate this milestone event that has never been executed by the group before.
As an appreciation for its worldly travelers, the group will be unveiling a surprise offer that will be announced at 00:01 on September 15th. The special will only be available for 24 hours and will be sure to delight the present-day explorers. A digital announcement teaser will be issued a week before the special day to approximately 300,000 Marco Polo global travelers to inform them of this milestone event.
On top of this surprise, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu will also be celebrating his birthday at the Café Marco. All lunch and dinner diners on September 15 will have a chance to win amazing prizes such as an overnight stay at the Marco Polo Suite inclusive of Champagne Breakfast. Other prizes include a gift certificate for a Tout Chocolat dinner for two and a one-month membership at the Wellness Zone.
