WITH P3 million left in its Quick Response Fund (QRF), the provincial government’s disaster management office may have to drop some of its programs to sustain the distribution of assistance to farmers in the midst of an extended El Niño dry spell.
Provincial Budget Office chief Danilo Rodas said this will depend on the recommendation of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and execution of Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III.
In May this year, Cebu province was declared under a state of calamity after farmlands and water sources ran dry due to El Niño.
