Mandaue City Councilor Emmarie “Lollipop” Ouano-Dizon will run for city mayor amid reports that Mayor Jonas Cortes will endorse 6th District Rep. Luigi Quisumbing.
Dizon was the guest speaker in the leadership and good governance forum at Benedicto College yesterday. She told reporters that whether the Liberal Party (LP) will support her or not, she will pursue her ambition to be next mayor of Mandaue City.
Last Wednesday, Dizon and her father, Provincial Board (PB) member Thadeo Ouano, talked to Governor Davide but the governor did not promise anything.
Dizon said that if LP will not endorse her in 2016, she may leave and join another party.
She said she has been receiving offers from other political parties but she is still waiting for Davide’s final decision.
