The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD 7) recently finished its second round of household assessment or Listahanan.
“Our enumerators are already done gathering information from the field,” said DSWD Regional Director Mercedita Jabagat.
They were able to assess 985,730 households or 97 percent out of the 1,016,269 target households in the region, she said.
“We only achieved 97 percent against the given target because the target is big compared to the actual number of households,” Jabagat said.
She noted that several respondents were absent when enumerators made house visits.
Enumerators would revisit the household at least three times if there is no qualified respondent at the time of their visit.
“However, for those families who were not yet interviewed by our enumerators there will still be a chance for them to be assessed,” Jabagat emphasized.
During the validation and finalization phase, families who were not visited during the regular enumeration will be given a chance to appeal and be assessed.
“We will announce the validation phase in all barangays, so that everyone will be able to participate,” Jabagat said.
The final list of identified poor families or Listahanan will be established after the validation process.
The DSWD through the Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction has undertaken a nationwide assessment to identify the families who will become beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
