ABOUT 100 students and sectoral representatives in Metro Cebu took part in this year’s Social Good Summit intended to empower the youth in voting for the right candidates in next year’s elections.

The forum held at the UP Cebu AS Conference Hall is organized by the University of the Philippines Cebu Student Council, Rappler and UNO Productions.

It featured a livestream discussion with national leaders like Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, Senators Allan Cayetano and Grace Poe, Liberal Party (LP) standard-bearer Mar Roxas and Vice President Jejomar Binay.

Youth leaders like Jon Neil Perfecio, Rural Missionaries of the Philippines Central Visayas coordinator, and Monica Manluluyo, Philippine delegate to the International Students’ Conference on Environment and Sustainability, said next year’s elections can help choose leaders who can help improve the lives of the urban poor.

“We should use a criteria on how to choose a good leader because all of us are called on to serve the people,” they said.
