Radisson Blu Cebu achieved the highest level of Food Safety

Radisson Blu Cebu has strengthened its international standards with its certification on ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System. The hotel is the first city hotel in Cebu and in the country to be certified.

ISO 22000:2005 is a Food Safe ty Management System (FSMS) that is required for organizations within the food supply chain, e stablished by the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization and World Health Organization which develops high food quality standards. The certification covers all the processes in the food chain that impacts the safety of the end product and a comprehensive food safety management syst em incorporating the elements of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Crit ical Control Points (HACCP). An extensive hote l audit was recently conducted and concluded by SGS Geneva, Switzerland, lead by Radisson Blu Cebu’s Quality Assurance Manager, Malou Gerra and Hygiene and Sanitation Manager, Alvin Pahati.

“We started this journey 12 months ago. The road was full of surprises, road blocks and major set- backs but it was a very importa nt project as we serve over 500,000 guests a year coming from all over the world” said Nishan Sil va, General Manager. “This certification not only drives the industry standards in Cebu, but it is also a key benchmark for the APEC Summit this year.”
