AT LEAST 47 children from the Homecare Center of Lapu-Lapu City enjoyed a day out with Mayor Paz Radaza as part of Children’s Month in October.
It started with a tour at the Happy World Museum in Cordova town, where children had fun having their photos taken with fantasy and illusion-style landscapes.
Mario Cabahug, president of Happy World Museum, and his Korean partnersr readily agreed to host the tour.
“We are very open for a tour for indigent children. For them, we offer it for free,” he said.
The minors then visited the Mactan Memorial Garden and a mall in barangay Basak. The tour ended with a visit to the Crimson Resort and Spa Cebu where the children had dinner.
“This is one of their wishes — to eat in a world-class resort,” said Radaza.
The government-run center shelters children in conflict with the law and those abandoned by their parents.
The center, funded by the Lapu-Lapu city government, was established in 2009.
